What Is Legalism? What Is The Gospel?
- God’s Grace Is Proclaimed In Paul’s Preaching: His Qualifications (v.1-2); The Gospel (v.3-5); His Marveling (v.6-7); His Directive (v.8-10)
- His Qualifications (v.1-2). Apostle=messenger. Divine appointment. Paul founded the churches in Galatia.
- The Gospel (v.3-5). Grace (charis), Peace (eirene). Note the order—grace, then peace. The Gospel is centered in a Person who paid the price for a purpose.
- Gospel Of Grace (v.4-5) Involves: The Sacrifice Of Jesus; Our Deliverance From Evil; The Sovereignty Of God. Judaizers—legalism, fleshly glory.
- His Marveling (v.6-7). Marveled At Their Turning Away; Marveled At Their Trouble. The Judaizers Were Perverting The Gospel (works, not grace).
- His Directive (v.8-10). Judaizers, False Teachers Are To Be Accursed. Not Pleasing Man But Only Pleasing God.
