Established-foundation with continual maintenance
But also, for this very reason:
Giving all diligence:
ADD TO YOUR FAITH
To your faith Virtue
To your virtue Knowledge
To your knowledge Self-control
To your self control Perseverance
To your perseverance Godliness
To your godliness Brotherly kindness
To your brotherly kindness Love
Vs 8-9
Strength over weakness
Neither barren nor unfruitful

For IF these things
Now listen!
Are yours and abound
!!Possessively ever increasing!!

!!WARNING!!
For he who lacks “these things”
Is:
Shortsighted
Even to blindness
Has forgotten
That he was cleansed from old since
Seriously, Not in a good place.
Vs 10
An Incredible promise of strength and victory(with a condition)
Therefore!
Be even more!
Diligent
To make your call and election sure
Conditional:
For if you do
“These things”
You will never stumble
For so an entrance will be supplied
Interesting!
Question? So an entrance may not be supplied?
The Lord’s desire is that none would perish, but some will.
Will be supplied in abundance, into the everlasting kingdom
The supply comes before the everlasting kingdom, giving us the ability, strength, and direction to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His everlasting Kingdom of God.
Vs 12
For this reason
I will not be negligent
To remind you
ALWAYS
OF THESE THINGS
Though you know and are established in the present truth.
Interesting that he says this.
I think this statement is for the “I got this, I’m good, chill!!, I’m not gonna do this or that, but are you doing the these things?
Because if you’re not doing that short sided blindness is sure.
Listen:
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Gal. 6:1
The pastoral heart of Peter Vss 12-14 is refreshingly sad
His constant care even in the preparation of his demise is unmistakably beautiful, reassuring of his love, even to making sure that there would be a constant reminder of the “these things“ displaying his enduring commitment to those that have been trusted to him in Christ Jesus.
