Partakers of the Divine Nature

2 Peter 1:

Vs. 12

What is at stake

For this reason:

I will not neglect

To remind you

Always of these things

Though you know in our established in the truth

Because we are partakers of the God’s Divine nature

We have the knowledge of God

His divine power

We are called to His glory and virtue

We have been given exceedingly great in precious promises

We have escaped corruption

We have an entrance into the everlasting Kingdom

So that They/we will not stumble

For this reason:

I will not neglect

To remind you

Always of these things

Though you know in our established in the truth

Forgetfulness leads to faithlessness

Reminding reinforces reality/Truth

Vs. 13-14

The Urgency:

Peter heard the prophetic word of God

Peter heard what Jesus said about his death

The calendar was showing his age

The urgency of the reminder was more than what was witnessed by him, but more so, what was revealed to them/us.

What/Who is your/our reality when things are difficult?

 Vs. 15

The Preparation:

Instill:

A careful instruction

Knowledge and understanding of the Word

Property details of who we/they are

Property details of what we/they are to do as we live.

Plus: His witness, these letters,

Heritage is what you receive Legacy is what you instill

Vs. 16-18

Apostolic testimony

The foundation of the Prophetic Promise

Prophetic evidence fulfilled

-JESUS-

Here is an interesting thought question.

They saw the transfiguration, they saw Jesus, glorified, they heard the awesome voice of God from heaven, yet the experience itself transformed their lives?

The experiences of God may infuse, compel, inspire, excite, but until you are born again by the Spirit, fade. )Concerts, compelling evangelist, moments in time they bring you to your knees, alter calls.)

When those three became filled with the Holy Spirit; being born again, then everything that they experienced was enhanced.  Pail had to relearn everything that he thought he already knew.

Knowing is not knowing until knowing is knowing the only one worth knowing:

The One and True Savior Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Vs. 19

The Transfiguration was amazing

With the Word of validation, even more so

The resurrection

The upper room

The ascension

The great commission

Well, now that’s just life changing!!

New life means old life is gone.

“A man is no fool to give up that which he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”

Knowledge is good, knowing is good, which you do well to heat as light that shines in the dark place, until, until….

Until The Day Dawns

And the

Morning Star rises in your heart!!!

Vs. 20-21

Knowing this first!

Prophecies are not private, they are confirmed by other word of God the word always provides confirmation to more than one.

Foretell vs Tell forth
