That good thing which was committed to you, keep, guard by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Vs.1:14
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Vs. 2:3
But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Why Continue:
Six Last-Day Characteristics:
They will not endure sound doctrine. 2Tim. 4:3
They will increase in lusts and sin. 2Tim. 4:3
They will add one teacher to another, or wander about from church to church to find those who will not insist on their getting rid of sins and sinful pleasures.

They will having itching ears, desire speakers who will tickle their ears and excuse their passions in the name of religion.
They will turn away their ears from truth which strips them of sin and demands their wholehearted consecration to Christ. 2Tim. 4:4
They will turn to fables and false religions that pamper the flesh and condone sin.
