Vs 7:22

Our Guarantor

Surety

By so much more

Jesus has become

A surety of

A better covenant

A better Covenant

Not negotiation, but testified (last will and testament)

An Unchangeable Priesthood

Unchanging, permanent, secure

Able to save TO the uttermost

Yes, He saves from, but more so, to the Uttermost

He ever lives to make intercession

Don’t give up!

Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that Justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also Makes intercession for us.

The prayers of our Great Intercessor

Luke 22:31-32

”But I have prayed for you“

This should be our inspiration and encouragement to pray for others.

The revealed and defined High Priest

Not of the law of Moses, but the Oath of God

Vs 7:26-28

SU'RETY, noun Certainty; indubitableness.

Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs-- Genesis 15:13.

1. Security; safety.

Yet for the more surety they looked round about.

2. Foundation of stability; support.

We our state

Hold, as you yours, while our obedience holds;

On other surety none.

3. Evidence; ratification; confirmation.

She call'd the saints to surety

That she would never put it from her finger,

Unless she gave it to yourself.

4. Security against loss or damage; security for payment.

5. In law, one that is bound with and for another; one who enters into a bond or recognizance to answer for another's appearance in court, or for his payment of a debt or for the performance of some act, and who, in case of the principal debtor's failure, is compellable to pay the debt or damages; a bondsman; a bail.

He that is surety for a stranger, shall smart for it. Proverbs 11:15.

Thy servant became surety for the lad to my father. Genesis 44:32.

6. In Scripture, Christ is called 'the suretyof a better testament.' Hebrews 7:22. He undertook to make atonement for the sins of men, and thus prepare the way to deliver them from the punishment to which they had rendered themselves liable.

7. A hostage.

The eternal sacrifice of Christ is a taking away of sin. His righteousness is a covering.

  • Romans 6:10: "For the death He died He died to sin, once for all, but the life He lives He lives to God"
  • Hebrews 10:4: "For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins"
  • Colossians 1:14: "God's Son, Jesus, paid the price for our sins and made us free"
